“ What a surprise! Who would have thought a small neighborhood restaurant would combine great food, generous portions and reasonable prices in an unhurried, casual atmosphere. As we sat down, the waiter brought us warm, crusty French bread with chilled really high quality butter. We ordered mixed grilled mushrooms (that weren't on the brunch menu but we asked for them anyway and got them with no fuss), avocado toast, caesar salad, salmon, nova salmon on egg, waffle with fruit and cream and peach melba. We couldn't have been happier. Parking (on the weekend) was easy as the next door bank allows use of its parking lot during non-banking hours. ”

“ Best French food in DC and friendliest staff. I had a fabulous Beef Wellington tonight. The meat was the most tender ever. It was a huge dish. There was enough for 2! My friend had Moulard Duck Breast, presented by the owner himself. Updated: went back at the end of May. The salmon tartare was beautiful and yummy. I loved the feta and cherry tomatoes salad. My friend had the lamb shank with a puree with leeks. We both drank a Strawberry Moscow Mule and we both also ate a Strawberry - Tomato gazpacho. As usual, great fresh food, well presented, and very friendly staff. ”

“ The food is always excellent and the owner is absolutely wonderful. He’s originally from Biarritz, so he really knows his seafood. Anytime there’s fish on the menu, I make sure to order it because it’s always so fresh and perfectly prepared. He also shops like the French do, heading to the farmers market for many of his ingredients, which I really appreciate. If you’re looking for French food that’s consistent, seasonal, fresh, and creative at a fair price, this place is it. The host is warm and welcoming, always greeting guests with genuine kindness. He remembers my family and is especially sweet to my daughter, which means a lot. I don’t go to any other French restaurant in the city because I know Rosemary’s will always be amazing. And the French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve tried plenty in many different cities, including Paris, and Rosemary’s version is truly the best. ”

“ Coming to Fred’s restaurant is like coming to your favorite family for the best meal you could possibly ask for where you are welcomed with a smile and open arms. The wait staff is attentive and efficient. The menu is interesting and every dish is superb. We enjoyed octopus, lamb, scallops, and avocado ahi. Our desserts covered beignets, floating island, and our all time favorite chocolate mousse. Looking forward to coming back to our neighborhood bistro for the best meal of the week. ”
